For Your Info By Sherry Victor
Natural Look Permanent Cosmetics/Owner
It isn't surprising with our
hurried schedules
that Permanent Cosmetics is becoming
so popular.
Here is some information to consider
when
choosing your Technician.
#1 Find someone with "Experience"! A two-day to two-week course is not enough
experience to let someone change your looks
permanently. Just as you would take time
to find a Doctor, Dentist, or Plastic Surgeon,
take time to get referrals before you choose
a technician. I have been through a 1 year
apprentice program and then worked under
a well known doctor in San Diego for 7 years
as a Permanent Cosmetics Technician.
#2 Is the technician OSHA Certified? This means they must be working in a very
clean and sterile environment. Every needle
should be pre-packaged and new ones used
for every client. The prevention of cross
contamination is the most important issue;
it could mean your health. Proper disposal
of needles is also important. Does the environment
smell clean when you walk in the door? Does
the person look clean and tidy? Remember
this is your health and face that we are
talking about, not just a bad haircut that
can grow out.
#3 Communication!!! Do you feel comfortable when talking or
meeting this person who is about
to change
your face permanently? Is she
confident?
Ask her how many procedures she's
has done,
and all her certifications should
be posted.
Is she listening to you or is
she telling
you what you want? If she cannot
satisfy
your communication requirements
do you really
want her working on your face
with something
permanent?
#4 Portfolio, have you seen her actual work on another
client? Or has she showed you
her portfolio.
Everyone who does Permanent Cosmetics
should
be EXCITED to show you their
work on someone
or in a portfolio. The technician
is an artist
and so subject to preferences
of "Style".
So make sure you like her "Style"
of Permanent Cosmetics.
#5 Ask what kind of method or machine she uses. I use a "State of the Art" digital
machine that is very effective
at implanting
color and not overworking the
skin.
#6 Ask about Topical pain medication? This is very important. A technician should
not want to work on someone who
is feeling
any type of pain. Pain can cause
movement
and that can create imperfection.
I use a
topical that is very effective
at completely
numbing the area so it is a very
comfortable
experience for my client.
#7 What will you look like immediately following
the procedure? How long will it take to heal? You should
be advised to use antibacterial
soap, Vaseline,
Ice Packs for comfort, and have
very clear
instructions on how to care for
your new
Permanent Makeup.
Who benefits from Permanent Cosmetics? Active
people of all age's Elderly people who have
difficulty with steadiness. Clients who are
visually impaired. Clients who have allergies
to traditional makeup. Client with motor
impairments like Arthritis. Or just busy
people who don't want to spend their day
applying and reapplying makeup. Men! Who
don't want to hang around waiting for their
partner to put on makeup!!
Permanent Cosmetics is a great choice, just
make sure you do all your homework beforehand,
and go in for a consultation, which is usually
free, and don't be afraid to ask all the
questions you want. If you're not at ease
just let them know and leave. This is your
face and you want it to be "The most
beautiful face" you have ever seen!
